First off, let's all congratulate Julia for placing FIRST in the statewide piano competition held this past Saturday! We were so excited that she won! I surely didn't expect her to be first in the STATE! But she has a great teacher, and she is a very thorough little person herself. Let's hear a round of applause for JULIA!!!
Last night, Sunday night, we received LOADS of rain, for which we are thankful, but we sure did not expect so much at once! Media is reporting 9 inches for our area...our rain gauge registered 6 inches. Several roads in our vicinity are water-covered...my husband had to make several detours on his morning route today. Our own road is impassible in at least one place. Right down from our house, the Bois d'Arc creek is out of its bounds and running across the road. Me and the kids went down to look at it this morning...while we were there a pickup came up and decided to turn around for safety's sake. I'm glad the driver did not attempt to make a crossing.
David and Julia wanted to wade into the water-
of course I said no...
not knowing how deep a cut has been made into
the rock road at this point.
By the way, our house/property is one of the last on our road
before the pavement turns into loose rock.
